STEP 2 - WE WILL PROCESS YOUR ORDER AND MAIL OUT YOUR FORMS DIRECTLY TO YOU. 

Once we receive your completed notary bond package order and required notary public information via online, by fax or by mail we will process it. Once processed we will mail out to you the following forms:

1) Your completed Arkansas application form
2) Two copies of your official notary bond (1 copy addressed to the STATE and 1 copy addressed to the CIRCUIT CLERK)
3) Power of Attorney form
4) Errors and Omissions insurance policy

Once these items have been received please proceed to STEP 3.


STEP 3 - SEND YOUR FORMS TO THE SECRETARY OF STATE'S OFFICE.

Once you have received the correct forms in the mail please be sure to review the forms for accuracy. NOTE: Each time your name appears, it MUST be exactly the same as the name on your official notary bond. You will have to mail the following forms to the Secretary of State's Office:

1) Your completed Arkansas application form
2) Your official notary bond copy addressed to the STATE
3) Power of Attorney form
4) A check or money order in the amount of $20.00 (filing fee) payable to the Secretary of State

Once you have verified that the above items are together and completed correctly mail them to the following address:

STEP 4 - WAIT FOR THE SECRETARY OF STATE'S OFFICE TO MAIL YOU THREE COPIES OF CERTIFICATES.

When the Secretary of State's Office approves your notary public commission they will mail you three identical notary public certificates. Once you receive the three notary public certificates in the mail you will need to take the following IN PERSON to your Circuit Clerk's Office:

1) Official notary bond addressed to the CIRCUIT CLERK  
2) The three notary public certificates

NOTE: The Circuit Clerk will file 1 notary public certificate, give 1 notary public certificate (notarized) to you and 1 notary public certificate will be sent to the Secretary of State. The Circuit Clerk will also administer your oath of office.

Once you have completed this process proceed to STEP 5.


STEP 5 - SEND US A COPY OF THE NOTARIZED NOTARY PUBLIC CERTIFICATE SO WE CAN ORDER YOUR OFFICIAL STAMP SEAL.

Once you have your completed notarized notary public certificate you must send us a copy by fax or email so we can order your new official stamp seal. Please do not delay!

Once we receive a copy of the required form we will order your new official stamp seal. Please allow ample time to receive your new official stamp seal due to the fact that it must be personalized and manufactured.

Once you receive your new official stamp seal in the U.S. mail you will be authorized to begin your notarial duties.

STATE REQUIREMENTS

ELIGIBILITY

Be 18 years old or older.

Be a legal resident of Arkansas.

Be a United States citizen, or a permanent resident alien with proof of Declaration of Domicile. 

Read and write the English language.

Not have had a prior notary commission revoked in the past ten years.


PROVISIONS

Non-Residents: Permitted.

Bond: A 7,500 bond is required for new or renewing notaries.

Errors & Omissions Insurance: Optional. Notary Service and Bonding Agency, Inc. strongly recommends that Arkansas notaries insure themselves against claims of negligence.

Filing Fee: A $20 state filing fee is required for new and renewal notary applications.

Term: 10 years.

Jurisdiction: Statewide.

Renewal: A notary may apply 30 days before expiration of the current commission by completing a renewal notary public application.

Notary Seal: Required. A embosser or rubber inked stamp.

Education/Testing: None required.

Record Journal: Recommended by the Secretary of State and by Notary Service and Bonding Agency, Inc. to keep a notary journal to record the signer's name, signature, identification, date and other pertinent information that a Arkansas notary performs.
