STATE OF MINNESOTA NOTARY REQUIREMENTS

ELIGIBILITY

Be 18 years of age or older.

Be a resident of the State of Minnesota.


PROVISIONS

Non-Residents: A resident of a county of Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, or South Dakota that shares boundary with the State of Minnesota may apply.

Bond: None Required.

Errors & Omissions Insurance: Optional.

Filing Fee: A $120.00 filing fee is required for new and renewal notary applications.

Term: 5 years or less; commissions expire on January 31 of the fifth year following the year of issue.

Jurisdiction: Statewide.  

Education/Testing: None Required.

Notary Seal: Required. Inked stamp.

Record Book: Required.
